BYOB

If Erin and I owned a wine shop it would be called BYOB for bring your own bag! and it would be the best ever.

Second best is Prospect Wine Shop in Brooklyn, which participated in the Brooklyn Green Team's NO Plastic Bag Challenge. They keep a sign up at the cash register about the evil's of plastic bags and encourage customers not to use them. I was there on Friday and the girls working at the counter were amazing-- they asked every person if they "needed" a plastic bag. If someone already had a bag, they would ask "do you need another bag, or can you use the one you have?" Pow. You've been greened!

I've been following your blog for a while now and love it. You have definitely made me more conscious of the plastic that is pervasive in our lives.

I haven't seen this addressed, maybe i missed it. Do you realize that the google ads on your blog advertise for a site that sells plastic bags and another that sells "pretty, party friendly" disposables?

Thanks for getting the word out...

thanks for reading!!

we can't control the google ads, they supply the ads based on our content, so i try to use words like "biodegradable" and "recycle" in hopes of getting more relevant ads.

we're planning to switch to more eco-friendly ads that we can control in the future. just need to make a certain amount from the google ads to get paid out first. so click away!

I always ask the customers at our store (Yarn store) if they need a bag. I had one woman tell me, "Don't try and be cheap like all the other stores. Where do you expect me to put my one ball of yarn? My purse?!" Uh- or your knitting bag!
